CSI Ireland. Students from transition year and 5th year attended a presentation on the role of science in solving crime at WIT. The speaker was State Pathologist Prof Maire Cassidy, pictured here with our Peter Mullan, Daniel Keating of 5th year Physics, and Mr. Melanophy.

Prof Cassidy's name may be familiar, as she is regularly mentioned on the evening news as attending the "Crime Scene".

Prof Cassidy presented some original documents from an18th Century crime and described how science would be used today to catch the perpetrator. She also outlined the many different roles for scientists in the area of crime solving.
