Platinum Award to be presented to RCS Dreamspace Ambassadors

The Microsoft Dream Space Ambassadors programme is a flagship student leadership and training initiative run through Microsoft’s Dream Space education hub. It empowers primary and post-primary students with a passion for STEM to develop skills in areas like coding, digital citizenship, and emerging technologies. Participants receive training from Microsoft experts and then act as “ambassadors” in their schools—leading workshops, supporting teachers, and mentoring peers. The programme not only strengthens technical ability but also builds confidence, communication, and leadership skills, helping students become role models for digital learning in their communities.

10 TY students from Ramsgrange Community School opted to become "Ambassadors" last September when they learned about this amazing opportunity. Since then they have taken part in a range of engaging training programmes, including workshops in coding and computational thinking, artificial intelligence and machine learning, cybersecurity and online safety, and digital media creation. They also received guidance in public speaking, teamwork, and peer mentoring, helping them build confidence as leaders.

Following their training, the RCS TY Dreamspace Ambassador students brought their learning back to the classroom by supporting teachers, leading activities, and inspiring their peers to explore technology in creative and responsible ways. Currently the students are delivering lessons to their peers in TY, thereby spreading the learning and skills to others. The programme fosters not only technical ability but also critical thinking, collaboration, and a strong sense of digital citizenship.

To achieve the Platinum Award in the Microsoft Dream Space Ambassadors programme, our students demonstrated a high level of commitment, leadership, and had a positive and lasting impact within the RCS community. The RCS Dream Space Ambassadors :

  • Introduce topics such as coding, online safety, or emerging technologies
