As part of our JCSP programme, the Art Department was delighted to secure funding through the “Being Creative” JCSP Initiative. This funding allowed us to welcome jewellery and repurposing artist Sally Morrissey to work with our 3rd Year Art students.
Students learned how to design and create a functional piece of jewellery using copper reclaimed from old hot water tanks. Each student successfully designed, created, and completed their own unique piece — a fantastic achievement.
This project highlighted the creative possibilities of repurposing materials and encouraged innovation, problem‑solving, and sustainability. Skills developed during this workshop will support students as they continue their creative journey next year. Well done to all involved in facilitiating this wonderful experience for the RCS JCSP students👏
