TY is a one-year optional and unique programme available to Ramsgrange Community School students. As a standalone programme within the senior cycle experience, the TY programme offers a unique opportunity where schools and communities can collaborate to encourage young people to thrive now and into the future.
Ramsgrange Community School boasts an incredibly strong Transition Year programme with high profile successes across various areas including enterprise, Junk Kouture, BT Young Scientist competition, Young Social Innovators and more. It is a highly competitive programme with an admissions process that includes a written application and interview.
Our TY programme provides a bridge to enable students to make the transition from the more dependent type of learning associated with Junior Cycle to the more independent learning environment associated with Senior Cycle. It encourages the development of a wide range of transferable critical thinking and creative problem solving skills.
